Can I ride a 158 snowboard?
Your snowboard should be able to carry your weight. The greater your weight, the longer your snowboard has to be. Your board will get loose and will be hard to control if it is too short for your weight (vice versa). If you weigh more than 210 pounds then purchase a board that is longer than 158 cm.
Does 3 cm make a difference snowboard?
Ability Level. Beginners should choose a shorter snowboard than they otherwise would if they were more advanced. A shorter snowboard is easier to maneuver and easy to manage when you are just starting out. As a rule you should take between 3cm and 5cm off of the length of your snowboard.

Is a 151 snowboard too small for me?
Since you’re going to be in the park most of the time, I’d recommend a shorter board, so your 151 would be good. It’s all preference though, whatever feels right. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
Do snowboard sizes matter?
If you’re riding primarily in the park or freestyle, pick a board on the shorter end of the size range. If you’re riding is mostly all mountain, powder or freeriding, consider a snowboard on the longer end of the size range or grabbing a volume shifted board. If you are above average weight consider a longer snowboard.
Do bigger snowboards go faster?
Length by itself will not make a snowboard go faster. It is mass that matters. Assuming that two boards are made of the same material and the same thickness, then a longer board will have more mass and will therefor be pulled down by gravity a bit faster.
What size snowboard for 5’2 and 158 lbs?
Hello, Im looking for a snowboard. Im 5’2 and 158 lbs. Any recommendation Reply Riley Bathurstsays December 29, 2018 at 10:27 pm Hey Nellie 5’2 158 you would want to start looking around 150cm maybe a little longer 152cm but try and rent or demo from your local shop or hill first to find a board you really enjoy.
Is 161161 too big for a snowboard?
161 is slightly above what we recommend in the sizing guide but it’s only a guide and it’s only slightly above and all snowboards measure different. A 2010 board may have gotten softer over the years depending on if and how it was ridden which will alter how it rides more than a little bit of length.
Is 157 or 158 a good board to start looking?
We can’t comment on specific boards there are just too many variables but either 157 or 158 is in a good length for you to start looking, if possible rent or demo both of those and see what feels best for you. Thanks Reply Chrissays October 16, 2019 at 4:55 pm
