It is a really wonderful place for dog owners to be able to let their dogs off their lead without fear of upsetting wildlife, observing the dogs on the lead rule in the moorland of Burbage Moor of course, but also a really fantastic place for the children of all ages.

Where do you park at Padley Gorge?
Padley Gorge is just 1/2 mile from the National Trust’s beautiful Longshaw Estate. It is between the village of Grindleford and the A6187 road. You can park at Grindleford and scramble up Upper Padley, or at Surprise View car park. Cross the road and head through the rocks until you get to Padley Gorge.
Can you swim in Padley Gorge?
Padley Gorge is a deep and quite narrow valley which has a stream flowing through the middle of it, with trees either side and pathways for you to follow. It has places to go swimming, exploring, searching for wildlife and even has a couple of tree swings.
How do you get to Chee Dale stepping stones?
The route
- Starting at Millers Dale Car Park, walk right along the Monsal Trail (signposted to Wye Dale) for 750 meters to the bridge.
- Just before the bridge is a footpath signposted right that leads down into the dale.
- After 350 metres you come to an interaction of footpaths.
