Overall, Kirito and Asuna are the only characters that I liked in the series but the anime was careful about not losing out on both action and romance. The plot of getting pulled into an MMORPG world and finding a way out, or learning to live with it, is a bit overused by now. But SAO was my first, so i didn’t mind.
